I was interested in the movement, in the vibration.
I focused exclusively on the design of the single chip, aware that a graphic sign on repeated element – especially if simple or almost imperceptible – would generate a continuous pulsation all over the composition.

  • Flicker design Simone Bonanni

We began investigating on the world of material surfaces used in architecture and in the contemporary interior, aiming to understand its essence and meaning.
We came to the conclusion that, beyond aesthetic languages, what we were interested in – and that we find in many surfaces for architecture and interior – was the authenticity of a raw material, homogeneous but irregular, that translates imperfect detail into its main quality.

  • Cru design LO STUDIO & Massimo Nadalini
  • Colombage design LO STUDIO & Massimo Nadalini
  • Mikado design LO STUDIO & Massimo Nadalini

For Spike, we emphasized a graphic element with a solid tactile appeal, for a formal rigor able to offer multiple suggestions.
Geometry, rhythm, and unexpected plays of light give more life to the new collection for M+.

  • Spike design Ludovica+Roberto Palomba

We started from voluminous porcelain stoneware collections: each one is the basis for subsequent reworks (REWORK) in a direction of further investigation of the mosaic, which also involved other designers in order to keep our approach to design collective and inclusive.

  • Primal design LO STUDIO & Massimo Nadalini
  • Crack! design LO STUDIO & Massimo Nadalini
  • XXL design Marialaura Irvine

The M+ Mosaics division collects the entire original history of the brand, linked to glass mosaic, in its different finishes, patterns and chromatic variations. Apart from the traditional collections, in this catalog you’ll find:

  • Reworked – new patterns created by designers
  • Custom – bespoke decorations and designs.

What do we mean by small?
IT’S UP TO US!

Mosaic is first and foremost broken matter, reduced to small elements that create seamless surfaces, in which the joint, multiplied
and incorporated in the pattern, does not divide but binds the components together.

Loom is a collection of full-body porcelain stoneware suitable for indoor and outdoor use on both floors and walls.

Cut-up is a collection of full-body porcelain stoneware suitable for indoor and outdoor use on both floors and walls.

M+ offers materials for interior design. Each of the 20 material groups is divided into 10 large color families for easier identification:
White+Grey+Black;
Neutral;
Brown;
Powder;
Yellow;
Red;
Pink+Violet;
Blue;
Turquoise;
Green.

The relationships between materials form the basic language of architecture.

M+ has created 10 colour families, including matching elements: a chromatic abacus which can be used to construct every interior design project.

Mist sets out to explore a new way of perceiving mosaic.
The laws of visual perception, and the pattern’s visual order, are manipulated in a kind of trompe l’oeil, giving the surface a more seamless continuity through space.

Sticks is a system of matter+texture+sizes+colors allowing any floor or wall surface to be rendered truly individual.

P-saico  features random-effect installation with a joint varying from 2 mm to 6 mm.
The initial inspiration was Opus Incertum, with its regular randomness generated by the combination of installation and surface.

Quilt is a stoneware mosaic in which the modules can be installed uniformly, for a geometrical effect, or at random, in an uneven layout that recalls antique Venetian Seminato pavings.

Diamond e Jointed – registered design

Jointed collection goes beyond the modularity of the mosaic chip and its repetition across the surface through the potential for breaking down every single element in 5 different ways.

Diamond evokes the architecture of places of worship, with cathedral glass with vein patterns steeped in history, and references modern architecture with the Art Deco and the pure geometry of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Cromie are formed by mixing chips of the same size in different Mosaico+ materials.
The random arrangement of the colors and material characteristics of the chips give the shades great dynamism, in a game of reflections and shadows, glossy and matt surfaces.
